When installing the nozzle on a new ladle (or new base brick), first clean any mud and debris from the base brick hole. Then, test-fit the selected (pre-baked) nozzle. Apply an appropriate amount of mud to the outer periphery of the nozzle, depending on the gap between the base brick and the nozzle (do not apply mud to the positioning section). Place the nozzle into the nozzle hole on the base and hammer it into place with a wooden hammer. During installation, ensure that the bottom end of the nozzle is parallel to the bottom plane of the base slide groove, and the height should not exceed 2mm above this plane.
For ladles in normal online continuous operation, if the nozzle is found to be corroded or damaged during inspection, it is best to replace it with a new one. When replacing, first remove the old nozzle, then use an oxygen blast hose to clean any remaining steel slag from the base brick hole, and then install the new nozzle. During inspection, if the base brick hole is severely corroded or there is a large gap between the water inlet and the base brick hole, apply mortar to repair the base brick hole. First, use a tool to apply the mortar to the base brick hole until it is rounded, then install the new water inlet.
After installing the water inlet, bake the mortar over a gas flame. Wait until it is dry before proceeding to the next step.
Installing the lower slide: Before installation, first confirm that the lower slide groove is clean and the bottom of the groove is flat. Once this is confirmed, place the lower slide into the sliding carriage.
Installing the upper slide: Before installation, first confirm that the water inlet is suitable for continued use. Then, confirm that the upper slide groove is clean and the bottom of the groove is flat. Once this is confirmed, apply a 4-6mm thick layer of mortar to the male end of the upper slide and install it into the groove.
Adjusting the Sliding Gate: After installing the upper slide, quickly lift the trolley, aligning the T-slot with the connecting rod. Activate the hydraulic cylinder to pull the trolley onto the track, positioning it in the pouring position. Check the clearance between the base and the bracket (7-9mm is normal). If any clearance is missing, reinstall the trolley.
Installing the Lower Gate: Insert the small gate into the small gate sleeve. Apply a 6mm thick layer of slurry to the small gate mother port. Firmly screw it into the horizontal gate sleeve and tighten it with the special tool. Shake the small gate to check that it remains stationary and not skewed.
Cleaning the Gate: After installing the small gate, attach the guard plate, activate the hydraulic cylinder, open the gate, clean the slurry from the gate hole, connect the gas cooling spring system, and close the gate for later use.
