What material is required for the sliding gate mechanism

1.Slide Plate Material

Alumina-Based Material: Alumina-based materials are commonly used for sliding gates due to their excellent corrosion resistance and high melting point. They remain stable at high temperatures and offer good resistance to corrosion from molten steel.

Silicon Carbide-Based Material: Known for its high strength, high hardness, and excellent oxidation resistance, silicon carbide-based sliding gates can withstand significant thermal and mechanical stresses and are suitable for continuous casting operations requiring high casting speeds and high quality.

Silicon Nitride-Based Material: Features high thermal stability and a low coefficient of thermal expansion, enabling them to maintain excellent performance in extreme operating environments. They are commonly used in the production of special steel grades or high-temperature alloys.

Alumina-Carbon Material: Made primarily from sintered alumina and synthetic mullite, with the addition of carbon components and antioxidants. Its dense structure, fine pores, and presence of a certain amount of residual carbon provide excellent corrosion resistance. However, its thermal shock resistance is reduced, and the carbon is easily oxidized during use, resulting in a loose structure.

Aluminum (zirconium) carbon material: improved on the basis of aluminum carbon skateboard, made of low expansion rate raw materials, with good thermal shock resistance and corrosion resistance.

2.Materials of Other Components

In addition to the slide plate, the sliding gate mechanism also includes components such as the mechanical drive mechanism and the supporting nozzle. These components are typically constructed from high-temperature, corrosion-resistant, and high-strength alloys, such as stainless steel and high-temperature alloys, to ensure stable operation in harsh operating environments.

When selecting the material for the sliding gate mechanism, multiple factors must be considered, including operating conditions, steel grade, casting speed, corrosion resistance, heat resistance, and mechanical strength. Furthermore, factors such as the production process and structural design also significantly impact the performance of the sliding gate.
